Question:
How to take an intro created with Flash4D and add it to a Frontpage website?
Answer:
1.) Open the Flash_Design_Folder where your intro is located in. The intro Flash file is the flash.swf one. The music Flash file is the bombay_sunset.swf (which it quite good music if I may add).
2.) Keep the Flash_Design_folder window open, now go to your computer and locate your website folder which Frontpage stores the website files. You should see an index.htm file in this folder.
3.) Next, go back to the Flash_Design_Folder and locate the file: index.html in it. The filename should be renamed to index.htm (notice the missing 'l' at the end) so that it will overwrite the good code in it over the current page that is not playing. This is the next step.
4.) After renaming the index.html file to index.htm, please copy the three files: index.htm, flash.swf, bombay_sunset.swf from the Flash_Design_Folder to your website files folder. When you copy the files over, it will ask if you want to replace the index.htm file that is currently in there. Select 'Yes'. This is where the code that works will replace the code that isn't currently working.
5.) Now that you have copied the files, open Microsoft Frontpage and publish your website. If you wish, you can just publish the three files: (index.htm, flash.swf, and Example-Some-Music-Title-Example.swf) which should now be in the folder that has the website files. Basically this publishing is taking the files from your website files folder and putting them online.
6.) Last, check www.YourWebsite.com (or the url to your website) once you are done publishing and the intro should play on the Flash intro page. If it doesn't play, or you continue to experience trouble, please review the steps above to make sure everything was done. Consider skimming through the process a second time if needed.
