Support > Flash4D > Text, Music, and Enter Button

I Have a Question About Text, Music, and Enter Button: (change)
Select the item below that you have a question about.

1. Can I have different presentations use different music?

The information regarding one music item for different presentations is actually for Flash4D version 3. The newer version of the software (version 4) allows you to use different music items for different presentations (and have them all in the same folder or different folder). So if you wanted, you could have two different flash presentations in two different folders or the same folder (just remember to use a different name for the second flash presentation or the first one might get overwritten). On the build screen in Flash4D v4 you can create a different name (and even folder) for the second presentation to be saved in. This is done by clicking the Options button on the Build screen.

2. Does Flash4D support Greek, Russian or cyrllic text?

Although, I am not sure, but it may be possible with a Greek, Russian, or cyrllic font to use Flash4D http://www.introwizard.com/flash4d/ to create a Flash intro. The text typed into Flash4D may be unreadable although the created intro may be okay.

This has not been tested by IntroWizard though.

I would suggest downloading a trial of Flash4D http://www.introwizard.com/downloads/flash4d.php and using a Greek or Russian font (select the Use Your Own Font button under the 3rd Text Options page [click More Text Options button 2 times]) in the text message area.

3. Can the Enter button be removed off of the design?

For Flash4D v4.4, the latest version, this is not possible.

However for the Extra Detailed Design Program included with Flash4D it is possible to have the enter button removed off the design. If you would not like to have an Enter Button at the end of your design, the enter button can be turned off in the customization process within Flash4D. For Flash4D v4, you can use the auto-enter feature or just skip selecting auto-enter or an intro button by selecting the next item on the left panel or clicking Next >>

4. When I play the intro and click the enter button, the music continues playing in the background as the intro page is behind the new page. How can I fix this?

If when you play your intro, and click the enter button and still here the music going in the background, this is because the page to display after clicking the enter button is set to display in a new window (or a "_blank" window).

Please make sure to change the enter button feature to open in the same window ( "_parent" or "_self") rather than a new window to correct this. This feature should be located nearby the enter button feature in Flash4D v4 or nearby the html feature in Flash4D v3.

5. MicroBlast Intro {text} text showing on line 1, why?

This issue only applies to Flash4D v3 and below and is due to a problem in the file. Flash4D v4.0 does not have this program.

If you own Flash4D v3 Professional Edition you can edit the Microblast .FLA editing file outside of Flash4D to completely change all of the texts.

Or visit the Customer Center and select to redownload v3 to receive a free upgrade to v4. Visit:
http://www.introwizard.com/customers/index.php

6. Can I change the speed of the text so that some of my text can be read easier?

This is possible in the additional program included with Flash4D ( www.introwizard.com/flash4d ) known as the Detailed Design Program, you can create a design where you can adjust the speed of the intro. This is under the Text Options button in the Detailed Design Program.

7. Can I add extra lines or remove text lines from the intro?

Extra lines can't be added to the intro, but if you would like to not have a text line simply don't put any text in the lines you don't want and no text will show in that part of the intro. For just an idea, this can help if you're looking to space text out over the design.

8. Troubleshooting A Problem: Can't hear any music after I created an intro.

Causes:
Possible causes to the problem of not hearing the music could be one of the following:
  1. The computer speakers are not on, or not responding.
  2. The No Music button has been selected from the Customization window.
  3. The Mute button has been selected in the intro. In this case, the button should have changed to the word Play?.

Solutions:
Current available solutions include making sure the speakers on the computer are on. If so, then assuring that a Music item has been selected to play, and that the No Music button has not been pressed as to remove the currently selected music item and replace it with no music.

9. When I type in the symbols '%' or '&' in the software in my text line the symbols don't appear or don't show the text after the symbol. Is there a way I can work around this issue?

Actually yes, there is a work around. The symbols % and & can be still used in your design by instead typing %25 for the '%' symbol, and %26 for the '&' symbol. Basically, instead of typing just the '%' symbol for a message like '50% off online inventory' it would be '50%25 off online inventory'. When you preview you will see that it will show '50% off online inventory'.

The same for the & symbol. A message like 'This & That' would be typed out: 'This %26 That' and when previewed will show the 'This & That'. So summing this all up, simply use '%25' for the % symbol and '%26' for the & symbol.

10. I don't hear any music with my design, what's wrong?

I looked into the problem and it appears a music .swf file is missing from the files put on the website. That .swf file has a name of the music item used with the Flash should be in the Flash intro folder on your desktop (unless the intro was saved in a different location).

I would suggest putting the music swf file on the website too where the other files, flash.swf and index.html, are located. After doing this, the music should play when viewing the Flash.

If it doesn't play however, this may be because no music was selected during the customization of the design. If this is so, you can easily load up your design back in Flash4D. First, open Flash4D. Then select the File menu and click the item that says Open. Next select where you saved your Flash design (normally is on the desktop in a folder called "Flash_Design_Folder". Select this folder using the Open File pop-up and select the .f4s file called something like 'flash saved design ( ____ design).f4s'. The name you have might be different depending on what design was used with the intro. To open this design for editing, click it and press the Open button.

Now you can go to the Music part of the Customization window (under Extras) and click 'change to other Flash4D music'. Then select a music item (you will hear the music if you keep your mouse over a music item) and then it will bring you to the music options. Once this happens, you can skip everything else and click the build button at the top. Then build the design and view it. You should hear music play when you view it.

Now you can put the files in the Flash_Design_Folder on your website. Once done, go to your website and view the index.html file to see your Flash intro play on the webpage.

11. How do I change the skip intro text to something like "move on" or just "skip" etc.?

For Flash4D v4.4, this is not possible although this is possible with the Detailed Design Program included with Flash4D. See the v4.0 details below for information about changing the skip intro text in that program: For Flash4D v4.0:
(Extra Detailed Design Program)
On the Customization window, at the bottom left side you will see a button called Design Web Page (Under Extras), click this and change the Skip intro text to what you would like to change it to.

12. Where is the font feature located for changing the text font for a design in Flash4D?

The font feature is located under the Text Options (grey button next to the text boxes on the Customization screen. Click the Text Options button and then click the More Text Options button that appears below the first set of text options. The font text option is located on the last set (3rd) of text options.

13. How do I link the Flash enter button to my webpage in a Flash intro?

To link the Flash enter to your webpage with a Flash intro from Flash4D v4.4 (the program with the light blue background), try this:

1. Obtain a free trial of Flash4D from ( www.introwizard.com/downloads/flash4d.php ).
2. Install and open the trial software.
3. Select a design and then customize it with your own text.
4. Where it says 'Page to Show After the Design' type in the full location to your webpage you would like the Flash to be linked too. For example, you can type: http://www.YourWebsiteExampleName.com/main.html
5. Create the Flash intro and locate the Flash intro files on your desktop in a new folder. You will need to rename your current index.html page to something like main.html so that you can copy the Flash intro files to the folder on your computer that has your website files.

Once the created Flash intro files from your desktop have been copied to your website folder, you can put all the website files online and go view your intro! It should come up first, and then you can click enter and you will be directed to your Home Page which is now called main.html.

14. Enter button when clicked will play the intro page again? Why? The page will just reload and the visitors will be trapped and can only view the intro. How can this be fixed?

This problem can actually be an easy issue with the Enter Button Go To URL filled out when creating the intro. When you created an intro with Flash4D, the Enter Button Go To URL field was filled in with your website url (a.k.a. web location) where the intro is, instead of the website page url to the webpage that the visitor should see after the intro. The Enter Button Go To URL field should be filled in with a url like:

http://www.MyWebsite.com/Page2.html

Breaking that down, the www.MyWebsite.com is your website location, and the Page2.html is the page you would like your visitor to see after the intro. This is the url that should be entered into the Enter Button Go To URL field in Flash4D.

The Enter Button Go To URL simply is the webpage you would like the intro viewer to see after they have seen the intro. When creating an intro, enter the first main page on your website in the Enter Button Go To URL and after the intro plays your intro will "go to" that website.

15. Music On / Off? How do I make the music go away?

To make the background sound music go away, you can select the "No Music" button from the Music panel on the Customize window.

16. The Enter Button doesn't work for me when trying to get it to go to a webpage online, how do I fix this?

When typing a page for the Enter button in the intro you're creating with Flash4D, check to see that it is typed as a full url like:

http://www.YourWebsite.com/PageToRedirectTo.html

Then when you view your design, the Enter button will redirect to the page you specified which above is the full url.

17. I don't hear any music or see a music button the first time I view my intro, but after I refresh my intro, I can hear the music. How can I fix this?

Consider downloading the latest version of your software from the customer center to fix this.

Please visit:
http://www.introwizard.com/customers/retreive-software.php
And select the product you own from the list. In this case, this may be Flash4D v4.

18. Can I change the text size or image size with Flash4D?

The Flash4D v4.4 software includes a Detailed Design Program (which has a different set of designs than Flash4D v4.4). This additional software includes the ability to change the text color, font, size, and even image size and tint color.

To open the detailed Design program, go to the Start Menu > Programs > Flash4D v4 > and select the Flash4D v4 Extra Detailed Design Program.

You also can start up Flash4D v4.4 and select to create a Flash Intro. Then click the bottom right icon that says 'Flash4D Detailed Design Program.'

19. The sound doesn't play online with my intro when I put it on my website. How can I fix this?

A guess is that this is occuring because the server is not letting the Flash file "contact" or get the music file. It may also be the music swf file wasn't put in the same location as the intro swf file on the server.

One thing to check for is to see if the intro plays or if it just stays stuck loading. If it stays stuck at the loading point where it flashes the word loading at the top of the Flash means it can't access the music file.

If you can't get it to work at all, please Contact IntroWizard with a link to view your Flash intro online.

20. Does Flash4D support Turkish characters?

Currently Flash4D does not support Turkish characters, but does support
English language characters.

21. When I click enter the Flash repeats itself instead of going to my website's next page.

The Flash also repeats itself when you click the enter button because the link that is set for the enter button to go to is the same page the Flash is on, so what it does is it will go to the same page and repeat the Flash. What you should do is set the Enter Button link to be: http://www.YourWebsite.com/TheNextOrMainPage.html so that it goes to that when the Enter button is clicked. This is called the page to go to after the enter button is clicked in the Flash4D program.

22. Can I add my own music or sound to the intros?

It is possible to use your own sound files with Flash4D although it is not easy to do within the program.

You also sound own or have copyright permission to use the sound or music files.

To use your own sound files with Flash4D you will need to use html code on the intro page. There is a complex
method of doing this using sound html code on the intro page such as the
example from:
http://www.davesite.com/webstation/html/chap13.shtml

23. Clicking the Enter button gives me a security issue warning in Flash. How do I get around this?

The security issue only should come up when viewing the Flash intro on your computer desktop. You will need to put the intro online to make this security issue go away.

This is a feature of Flash that protects your computer from Flash applications that may try to connect online when you click something in them, like the Enter button.

If you put the intro on your website, you will see there should be no more security issue when viewing it from your website unless your Flash security settings have been changed to high settings.

24. How can I change the enter button's link target to open a new window or do something like target=_top?

The target=_top feature of linking is only available for the bonus program of Flash4D v4.4 which is called the Extra Detailed Flash4D Design Program that is included with Flash4D v4.0.

To have a target=_top for Flash4D v4.0 and Flash4D v5.0's skip intro button (the enter button won't support target=_top) you'll have to open the flash-intro.html file on your desktop's flash intro folder that was created and edit the link (the html starts with
